Final Conference of the SHARED Project

The Observatori de Dret Públic (IDP) de la Universitat de Barcelona in collaboration with the DIDUE (Research Group in International and EU Law), the (B)OrderS Centre of Queen Mary University of London, and members of the European Parliament invite you to the Final Conference of the SHARED Project on September the 28th and 29^th in the Law Faculty of the University of Barcelona (Salón de Grados).

The aim is to discuss and disseminate the results of the study of ‘shared responsibility’ as applied to joint interventions by Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency), the EU Member States, as well as the third countries and private entities with which they collaborate, in the implementation of border management and migration control measures, in particular concerning fundamental rights violations.

The conference, convened by the SHARED Project team, Prof Violeta Moreno-Lax (PI), Dr Mirentxu Jordana (Girona) and Ms Laura Salzano (Barcelona), will feature keynote addresses by MEP, Prof Tineke Strik (Greens), and MEP, Prof Juan Fernando López Aguilar (S&D, Chair of the LIBE Committee), as well as contributions by key organisations, including Frontex, the EU Fundamental Rights Agency, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), Proactiva Open Arms, alongside young researchers and leading academics from all over Europe.

The joint Guidelines on Shared Responsibility in the Context of Integrated Border Management, resulting from the collaboration of project partners and key stakeholders in the field will be presented and discussed at a closing roundtable.

Participation (whether in person or online) is free, but registration following this link by September the 25^th is obligatory. In-person registrations, given capacity constraints, will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
